Mom

Moms are truly special individuals—the first people we come to know. They provide us with a haven and nurture us as we grow. Throughout our early years, they offer comfort and protection from the vast world outside, even though letting us stumble now and then is part of their wisdom.

A mother's heart breaks at the thought of her child's pain; she never wants to see them struggling. However, she understands that life's lessons include both highs and lows. From the very beginning, she's not just a caretaker but also our foremost teacher and guide.

She knows her children inside out, standing by them through every challenge—even into adulthood—because no one else loves quite as a mother does. Her love extends beyond her physical presence on this earth.

Even when she's gone, somehow she still senses when something isn't right. She finds ways to leave little reminders along your path to tell you that everything will be okay.

Last night, I took a walk. There's something truly therapeutic about strolling in the evening as the sun sets and everything around begins to quiet down. The soothing chirps of birds and the sight of bats starting their day create such a calming atmosphere. For the past two years, I've walked almost every evening, which has been a crucial part of my healing journey after suffering a brain injury. These walks help me unwind and process my thoughts and emotions.

My walk was a deeply emotional experience for me as I realized that my book, *INVISIBLE*, is now available for pre-order. This moment has filled me with immense excitement and gratitude—it's an achievement I've dreamed of ever since acquiring my brain injury. Reaching this milestone means the world to me, and my greatest hope is that it will touch someone's soul.

As I reveled in this accomplishment, tears streamed down my face because the one person I'd love more than anything to share this news with left this Earth in November 2023. I find myself still needing my mom's presence so much. Though the universe decided it was her time, part of me longs to have her here physically beside me.

The bond between a mother and daughter is made up of countless layers: disagreements, tears, laughter, and shared moments of silliness. Despite whatever happened during the day, we always knew that tomorrow brought a fresh start; she would always answer my call without dwelling on past arguments. But yesterday, I couldn't call her to share my news. Letting the tears flow freely, I allowed myself to feel deeply.

And just like always, my mom found a way to reach me—four feathers scattered along my path during a walk. When the first tear fell and I noticed the largest feather, I thought to myself, "Okay mom, thank you! I know you're here." Gratitude filled me in that moment, yet it wasn't over. As I continued walking, three more feathers appeared.

I paid attention to each message—they were unmistakably clear reminders from her. During times of struggle, it's crucial to pause for deep breaths or meditative silence—to speak your thoughts aloud or simply sit with your emotions. And when you come upon signs right before your eyes—take a moment to truly listen because those messages are worth hearing.
